Dr. Liu Weidong has been nominated as a candidate for the Board of Directors and cross-strait Regional Chair of the Society for Information Display (SID). With a distinguished career spanning 30 years in the field of electronic display technologies, including laser display, LCD TV, and LED backlighting, etc. Dr. Liu has achieved a remarkable publication record of over 200 papers and has more than 150 patents.
Currently serving as the Chief Scientist at Hisense Visual Technology Co., Ltd. and as the Convener of the Laser Display Working Group (WG10) in the International Electrotechnical Commission's Technical Committee of electronic display (IEC TC 110), Dr. Liu has been actively engaged in collaborative efforts with numerous industry-leading firms and esteemed research institutions in the field of display technology. His extensive involvement in academic and technical conferences and international standardization activities has afforded him a profound understanding of the industry's landscape and fostered invaluable relationships with experts and entrepreneurs, particularly those based in China.
Dr. Liu's previous appointment as the Chairman of the SID Beijing Chapter from 2020 to 2022 reveals his exceptional organizational abilities and reinforces the recognition and trust he commands within the Chinese display community. His unwavering commitment to serving the SID membership is resolute. Furthermore, Dr. Liu endeavors to spearhead innovative initiatives encompassing academic discourse, technical advancements, and comprehensive training programs, aimed at bolstering SID's influence and presence at cross-strait regions. Leveraging his flexible schedule, he pledges to dedicate extra time and resources to SID activities, ensuring their seamless execution and optimal outcomes.
